Draft the POA with correct language
The POA must explicitly authorize CPF registration with the Receita Federal. Use the MoraLá template.

Notarize at a UK solicitor or notary public
A UK solicitor with notarial practice or a public notary in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland can notarize the document.
- 03
Get the apostille from the FCDO
Submit the notarized document to the FCDO Legalisation Office. Apply online or by post. Standard: 2-5 business days (£30). Same-day service available by appointment at 105 Victoria Street, London.

Get a certified Portuguese translation
A tradutor juramentado registered in Brazil must translate the POA. This can run in parallel with the FCDO apostille.
- 05
Submit to Receita Federal
Your representative submits the complete package. Receita Federal processing: 5-14 business days.

- Valid UK passport
- Proof of UK address (bank statement or utility bill within 90 days)
- Notarized and FCDO-apostilled Power of Attorney
- Certified Portuguese translation of the POA
